just bought two new front tires, but suspension still shot, should I use them?

OK. I'm not driving the car anymore than 15 or so miles each day, if that, just basically enough to keep her from getting too stove up.

My front tires were so bad, dry-rotted, etc., that I had to buy a new set, which I have not installed yet.

But I am still in the process of rejuvenating the suspension. It desperately needs both front and rear struts, as well as tie rod ends and most likely ball joints, and I'm know a front end alignment is a must.

But until then, would you guys suggest putting the new tires on the front, since I'm not gonna be driving that much anyway? My point is, I don't want to completely ruin the new tires before I have a chance to get some life out of them.

How long until you get the suspension parts done? I'd put the new tires on and go. Better to put a bit of unnatural wear on them than risk the blow-out from the dry rotted tires. Or if you wish, hit a scrapyard and pick up a set of cheap used temp. tires if it's going to be a while for the suspension work.

I'm concerned with all the rampant sex and nudity on TV but all I can do is sit at home shaking my fist.

Front end is pretty easy on these cars. Count the turns when taking the tie rod ends off. Put the new on the same number. Make sure you don't need inner tie rods also or you may just want to buy a reman rack. Use a string, jack stands & 1/8" drill bits to set the toe. (search for details.) Do not drive on dry rotted tires unless you feel a need and entitlement to endanger yourself and everyone around you.

You should be fine unless it's seriously out of alignment. Any suspension problems can cause premature tire wear and once you start that process it'll continue to chew away at the tires. At 15 miles a week you should likely be okay, but make sure to regularly inspect the tires to see if any premature edgewear is occurring.
