I have a 1993 N/A 300zx with an auto trans.

I recently start hearing a weird whining noise, it does this the loudest when cruising at about 30mph,
and I have noticed it at around 65-70 but hard to tell since other sounds are present.
Any ideas on what this could be?

Yeah. Kick her out of the car!

(Haha.. I got to say it first)

If I had a Z, it'd be silver... no... BLACK...

Check your fluid level yet? I'll never forget the whine of a '62 Ford auto I had with low fluid......or if the filter is clogging and restricting fluid to the pump.

Can you tell where about the whine originates from? There are a couple different whines that can come from the powertrain. Differentials have been known to whine too.

What fluid? Transmission?

And I am pretty sure its coming from somewhere in the middle/front, I am too not sure, its very hard to tell.
