Engine Pull?
How about engine drop?
Did it yesterday with 4 jacks (1 used as a redundant support for safety) and the help of my brother and girlfriend supervising. I did all the "dropping."
Setup

Here we go!

We're getting there

Booyah!

Honestly, that thread gave me the idea! Hmmm no engine hoist required,huh....
Hahaha Now JohnH will accuse you of being a BAD Mechainc!! LOL
I did mine differently in that I didn't drop the crossmemeber but the idea is certainly the same!!

Norm go back read the thread that accuasation came from. You being a bad mechanic relates to your replacement of the crankshaft with the engine in the car. So now I have to accuse you of being a poor reader with the memory retention of a crack head.
haha JohnH you are PATHEIC!! You STARTED it by saying It COULD NOT BE DONE!!
You said it was BS!!
And you ALSO were proven to be a misinformed know nothing shadetree mechanic when Tony told you that even PROFESSIONALS change cranks WHILE the block is still in the engine.
You are a JOKE go AWAY before you further embarrASS yourself!

those images have been photoshoped, I cannot believe an engine can simply be brought out from under the car like that until I see it live on TV. Oh wait they do it all the time on spike and speed never mind :) ha ha ha
Ain't I just the funny guy.
O yeah and they have shown replacement of the crank all the time on any drag show you watch. Boy I could only image the length of the races if they had to take the engine out.

Norm's Crackheadedness aside, the contention that 'Professional Mechanics' would NEVER resort to IN FRAME OVERHAUL or CRANKSHAFT REPLACEMENTS (especially underwarranty!) was pretty much ploughed up your arse with what I posted making you look the fool for your comments as well, John.
So please don't accuse people of not reading the thread when your qualification to discern professional mechanics trade practices were THOROUGHLY DISCREDITED in that post HANDS DOWN!
Some could say you were made The B*tch in more ways that one with the posting of the warranty replacement guidelines...
Now you are both trolling.
Trolling is what someone is doing...
But it's not Norm or I...
Ha ha! You guys are all idiots. Who gives a flying F@#$???!!! Save your pissing matches for things that matter.
thanks for bringing it up DAS now I have to go to the bathroom
Hey DAS280zx you're an idiot too for reading our tripe!! HAHA
Yes, probably so! :(
Good job, Leon V. But a word of advice: never let a girlfriend supervise. It goes to their heads.
you gotta keep her happy somehow right?
"I'm bored, should I just go home?"
"You can have the most important job: supervisor!"

I described how to do this at least 8 years ago! There was no controversy then.
Why would you not be able to drop the engine?

...and for dinner tonight, there will be a big heaping of crow for those in the other thread said this was not possible.
Pics worth a thousand words...or in the case of that last thread, severl thousand words...LOL!
