Nissan, Chrysler discussing car, truck supply, source says

TOKYO -- Nissan Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC are in preliminary discussions to supply cars, trucks and engines to each other, a source close to the talks said on Friday.
Both Nissan, Japan's third-biggest automaker, and Chrysler, which was acquired this year by Cerberus Capital Management LP have similar original equipment manufacturing (OEM) deals with other carmakers aimed at saving costs.

Sorry but I don't have a paid $100 subscription to Autmotive News so this is all of the story I get, but it doesn't sound good for Nissan fans! The Nissan- Ford venture of the mid 90's yielded one hell of a crappy minivan, so one has to wonder what kind of spawn of the demon seed crapola would be produced!! LOL

Well the only good thing about that Nissan/Ford venture when they had the minivan was the use of the VG-30 engines in them. Kinda like that Mazda MPV that had the VG30DETT installed a few postes down.
