So I just got my second 280z, this one from 76, and doesn't run. Took it to a shop and had it diagnosed. the duel fuel relay was determined to be the problem. The biggest problem, I cannot find one ANYWHERE! So, I'm trying to think of alternative ways to wire it so as to bypass it. After reading the fi bible I realized this is not easy and don't quite see how I should do it so I'm looking for some input and ideas please!
The fuel pump power part of the relay is pretty simple. It uses the AFM switch to activate the solenoid. The EFI side is a little more complicated. Which side is bad?
You might want to check your connection at the battery. There are two black wires that go to the battery and one of them goes to positive post on battery. Just because its black doesn't always mean ground on this model. I troubleshot this problem for over two months.
