one off turbo set-up

Who wants to be unique?

I just bought a 280Z with a custom fabricated turbo assembly on it. I am not a "turbo guy", so I plan to go back to NA. I am looking to see if someone wants to swap this turbo set-up for a complete set of side drafts.

Not sure of the turbo size, but it is fed off of a single GIANT SU carb that I was told came from a Rolls Royce.

I will include everything you need to hook it up and even swap oil pans with you as mine has an oil return line welded into it.

texting is best for me

Steve

Hey Steve,

'Sorry my rotary phone doesn't do texts. This setup is like an engine fire waiting to happen. I LOVE IT! They used to do this in 1960's and 70's. I believe that unless you pressurize the whole carb assembly, that SU won't function very happily but if you boxed it in, or left it as is, and that awesome SU dums too much fuel into that turbo, well it would be a good idea to carry lots of marshmallows. CRAZEE. What would the cash price be? I hardly care, but does it feel any faster? where's the blow off valve?

Hope to hear back

Shop teacher, anyone afraid of a car fire should not be driving a Datsun LOL

I pulled the set-up out last night and took more pictures.

I have never driven the car, since I just bought it. I started it up after oiling the cylinders and cleaning the fuel system. It had not run since 1998, and it started within 2 seconds!

I have had several inquiries about it. Somebody local to San Diego would be awesome as this will be expensive to ship. Not looking to make a killing on the sell, just looking to get some cash to secure some carbs. Make an offer.

Feel free to call me on your "rotary phone".

Nobody wants to honor Dr Suess by running this set-up?

Bragging rights alone about running a RR carb must have some value?

Color me intrigued!

I realize it's been a few weeks, but do you still have this?

If I squint it looks like the manifold is an N42 style one (with the squared off exhaust ports) that's been bolted up to an incorrect head, maybe?

Anyway, I'm in the midwest and would have to look at shipping options, and if nothing else I just had to comment based on how wonderfully bonkers this setup is.

Let me know what you can do. Thanks for your time!

Still have it, and want it to find a good home, not the scrap yard. I was going to check with a local Bentley guy to see if the carb has value. I will sell it to you for $250, plus whatever shipping is. I would estimate it's 100 lbs total.
Call me if you want to discuss further
