I would just go to whoever gives you a lower interest rate.

I did which was really through Bank of America. The interest rate was 7.9% (2 years ago).

I refinanced through my credit union after a month for 3.99%.

Your credit rating has a lot to do with the interest rate offered to you.

Hang in there, it is all worth it!

Your credit rating has EVERYTHING to do with the rate that you get. Better rating - you'll be offered better rates.

Re: Financing A Loan Through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. (NMAC

I bought a car a year half ago on a Nissan lot. Financed it thru NMAC for 60 months at about 9%. They called a few days later saying there was some problem with the financing. Apparently the particular year model could not be financed for that long, it had to be 48. I thought I was getting the old bait and switch routine (it happened to me a few years ago). Man did I start complaining. See, they had already wholesaled my trade-in. I started threatening TV shows, newspapers, etc. Finance manager asked to please calm down, they wanted to "make it right". Result: They dropped the interest rate to 4.5% for 48 months. Payment was $12 more a month, but for a whole year less. Saved a couple of grand over life of the loan. It pays to complain (loudly).

I am financed through NMAC. This was my first car too. I am 23 years old and have pretty good credit. I got 60 months at about the mid 4% range. I ended financing about 22K maybe and I pay about 440 a months....I had to get the gap insurance...just in case.

Re: Financing A Loan Through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. (NMAC

Thanks for the info guys. I have ok credit, BUT I had my mom co-sign, which does help.

Last night the dealer said: "Since it's so late we couldn't submit your application with NMAC. IF you leave a deposit, you can take the car home and we will let you know what happens tomorrow with your loan."

I guess these guys thought I was a total idiot! IF I took their offer, they could've told me any apr % under the sun and I would've had to take it. Why? Because I drove the car off their lot and it was now mine.

I'm not going to give prices now, but the reason why they are doing this is because they are making hardly any profit on the Z they're trying to sell me. They're going to try to screw me on the apr %, so they can come away with more $.

This has been a 4-month nightmare with these Nissan dealers. I'm very close to going to an American car dealer. I'll let you know what happens.

Get a loan from anywhere else if you don't like the deal the dealer offers. Then again, if your credit history precludes that, then you may be stuck with whatever the dealer offers

That's actually very smart of you to be aware of what the dealer was trying to pull on you Avs. I don't know if at your age I would have recognized that. Well done.

I agree with BLUZTRK. If the keys to that new 350Z were dangled in front of me in your situation it would have been hard to be that rational.

Good luck AVSfan33!
