Default How to reset the ecu & codes

Ok thanks to zazu I read how to install the 1000k ohm resistor for the knock sensor and I understand how to install it. My question is that it says to reset the ecu and then run the car again to make sure it sets off the code 34 again. If it does reset it again and then install the resistor. I would just like to know how to reset the codes on the ecu, is there a process or do I just leave the battery disconnected for a little while? Thanks guys.

disconnect the neg battery terminal while you install the resistor. Actually - its usually a good idea to disconnect the battery whenever you work on electronic components. When you finish with the resistor and reconnect the battery.. ECU should be reset.

Oh ok thanks zazu, I was just refering to the step where it was verifying the code 34. Its snowing/icing out right now but as soon as I get the chance I will definetely fix it up. I'm still sure my car is boosting fully right now but if it isn't omg it would be awesome lol. I can't wait to get some gauges in my car aswell. Thank you again zazu you're always helpful.

Code 34 is self-resetting. Each time you turn the ignition off and back on it reads the sensor to verify it's within range. Once you've done the resistor mod you just turn the ignition back on and the code should be gone. Take the car out for a test drive and the code should stay 55. If not, then your resistor mod wiring needs to be looked at.

I would do as Zazu said and disconnect the battery anyway just for safety sake.

Yep, snowing in Memphis, about 5 inches here. The TT in the garage looking good, won't be out till next weekend at the SCCA Drivers School and Regional races as the pace car. See y'all there.
