Jack Points ....???

Ok, I know where the jack points are ...on the pinch weld right?? But when I jack up the car, the pinch welds bend...will this cause a problem or am I pretty much screwed??

I have a low profile jack, and the car is to low, the jack hits the factory side skirts.

yeah i sometimes go up underneath the control arms... but then again, that's probably not to safe

If you are having trouble, I believe it is safe to jack under the oil pan, as long as you soften the jack and spread the pressure with a 2x4 a foot long.

on the back end, lifting the differential seems appropriate, and allows you to place stands under the jack points, or the suspension, depending how long the car will be up for (you wouldn't want extended periods with an 'unsprung' suspension...

Any caveats out there? My very experienced back yard mechanic brother does it this way, I think in 2000 cars he's used a lift 50 times.
