Ouch! 200 bucks for a hatch strut! Maybe it has a remote and gold plating. The two for my 280zx cost 25 bucks since they also fit a modern Murano and work great, here's one that claims to fit early 240's as well for around 20 bucks. Shop around, and do note, most do not come with any other mounting hardware other than the strut.

He's going for a true restoration (I know him), so OEM is probably best if that's the goal.

Would I pay that? Probably not, but if you want it to be correct.....

Thanks all for your suggestions. I have done some research on that factory strut. It is not an original part, it is one that will work with modifications. I am going to try the one from motorsports as it is supposed to be stronger than just a regular strut. I'll update you when I get it installed

Hi all, just as they advertised the motorsports strut is very stout. Easy to replace looks good work very well holds the hatch with no binding.
