I'm the guy when it comes to 81 two tone turbos.
When it comes to two tone talk, you knew I would write in. I have every year Z brochures and there was a Turbo brochure printed in 2-81. I am looking at it right now. There were three brochures for 81. The first was printed in the fall of 80. I can't find that one right now, so I can't say the month for sure. They all show the drivers headlight on with the rain coming down. It's a black non Turbo headlight bucket. In side it shows a bronze t top coupe, then a base coupe in that dark gray, which by the way was only offered on the base ZX. Then there is a t top blue and silver 2+2, then a shot of that 2+2's interior and the last two pages show the features and options. The second brochure is the exact same thing except this one shows a black turbo on the first 4 pages with the gold trim as all black 81 turbos came with the gold trim. The last brochure is just for the turbo and it shows the same black car and nothing extra was added in that brochure. The 81 colors were.... Black, white, silver, bronze, blue, red, brown and that dark gray. The two tones were, blue and silver, red and silver, that dark gray and silver, "Bet nobody knew that one" and black and silver. As far as I know, Frank is correct about the 3 black and silver 81 turbos, however, I have seen black and silver non turbos but not in the US. By the way, the blue and silver for 79 was a darker blue. The brighter blue was offered from 80 on.... We can discuss the colors for 82 and 83 some other time. I wrote enough for now.
